Gun deaths vs other deaths, redux

How many people die from power cord strangulation a year?

Couldn’t tell you.

Shouldn’t that be a central question to the significance of focus on one weapon vs the other?

Nope.

Ok. If the number of occurrences of murder by a specific tool is irrelevant to the degree on which we focus on the said tool, why are guns, specifically, so important to you? You don’t need a gun to stop a power cord strangler.

I’ll start the jepardy theme for you to guess.

Looks like you’re playing it for yourself.

It’s almost like you’re just about to admit that the high occurrence of gun violence is due to the efficacy of such tooling, and that given both its efficacy and rate of usage, it is better to focus our limited public resources on gun violence rather than, say, power cord strangulations

We have between 1.5-2.5 million lawful defensive gun uses in the country each year compared to around 9,000 unlawful homicides.

If you really were serious about going with the numbers obviously far more good than harm is done with firearms each year in the US.

Bullying should be eradicated…I agree.

Tooling, while pretty, does not make a gun more efficient.
