I think what the Dems need to do is SOMETHING, and that is what they are doing. Biden is going at it 100 mph and damn the torpedos, and the thing is, there is every real chance his ideas and policies might be popular with the American public. A lot of them poll very well, such as paid family leave and the child tax credit. A lot of Americans also like that caregivers of parents can be eligible for actual compensation to care for their parents in lieu of Medicaid paying for a nursing home.
Good ideas.
What has the GOP done except cut taxes? What is their vision? They had the WH, the Senate and the House for Trump’s first 2 years, inheriting a low unemployment rate and a healthy stock market. What did they do with all of that capital? A tax cut, not much else.
The GOP is bereft of ideas, their last convention actually provided no new platform, they just used the same one from 2016.
So, to me, I think the Dems need to keep passing legislation and go for it. Win or lose, they got something done and hopefully the American public will appreciate their effort and condemn the lack of effort on the GOP’s part to participate in the debate and guide the legislation.
It’s not ‘print as much as you like’. Most circulated currency is not printed, and in a real way, is generated by fractional reserve banking. Taxes can rectify imbalances, or if shifted ‘downward’, make them worse.
