What happened in the three cases cited in the paper you posted…
Search King, Inc. v. Google, Tech, Inc The court ultimately agreed with Google, finding that PageRank consisted of “constitutionally protected opinions.”
Langdon v. Google, Inc. The court agreed, explaining that the First Amendment guarantees not only the right to speak, but also the right not to speak. On this ground, the court granted Google’s motion to dismiss the complaint. The court also held that Google was immunized from the plaintiff’s claims under section 230 of the Communications Decency Act,
KinderStart.com LLC v. Google, Inc However, the court found that KinderStart failed to adequately allege that Google actually represented its PageRank algorithm as “objective” and
_therefore dismissed the claim, since if Google represented PageRank as a _ subjective opinion, there could be no defamation claim.
As I said, lets find out what they are doing first and then find if its legal.
We have a ton of laws over who can give how much to campaigns, and you want to defend manipulating fake results that can turn an election? Seriously?
At the least, the public should know if they are being tricked or not.
That might be enough.
Please investigate away, wake me up when you the Trump administration comes back with something of substance…cause at this point its looking like you all are just jumping from one crack pot conspiracy to the next.
Its just down right embarrassing how you are lead by the nose towards insanity because of deep rooted insecurities of conservative persecution.
Fine. Now argue to change the law to put it under the FEC. Or at least let people know they are getting fake search engines to go with fake news from CNN.
We have federal courts calling google results opinions… Are you suggesting opinions be treated as campaign contributions? How would our host feel about that?
And if the public is presented with all the facts on their manipulation, that may well be enough. How much of their business would they be willing to lose?
I saw any number of arguments that if information were provided by Russia to the Trump campaign then that would be something of value and a campaign contribution. Now, when the other way works better…what? Information is something of value? No way.
The investigations into the Trump Campaign have produced guilty pleas and convictions in a court of law. There is a mountain of evidence in the hands of SDNY which lead to Cohens guilty plea.
Will this lead to Trump? That is an open question, so far Cohen has made an accusation…lets investigate
When this is all done lets compare the “Google investigation” with SDNY’s and Muellers, and share the results…
No, they haven’t. Totally unrelated tax frauds and bank frauds that were in now way connected to the campaign, and some gong back a decade, have been prosecuted.
Thats all.
