Negotiators from the United States and Canada announced a new North American trade agreement over the weekend; officially ending NAFTA and unveiling the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement -better known as the USMCA.

USMCA … as acronyms go it could suck worse, but it’d be difficult to achieve.

But CAMUS would sound like an actual name, MUSCA is probably in use somewhere in the Northwest or in Canada, MCAUS sounds like an Australian burger joint and USCAM is just tooTwittery. Finally, while CAUSM would be generally representative north to south that’s not enough to CAUSM me to like it, no CAUS, just M.

The agreement is almost word for word TPP.
