Are mainstream “news” reports mainly just informercials to push the current narratives from Democrats and their allies?
Yes, the false narrative is that the settlement was because the Dominion machines are not easily hackable.
The reality is that settlement before discovery was most likely a shakedown to fund Dominion and make sure that Fox stays in line as a token mainstream “conservative” voice. If the allies of Dominion were able to go after the President for four years, what can they do to Fox?
With the proliferation of media sources and the rise of social media, the trust in media was inevitably going to fall. More competition means media outlets are specializing and catering to specific audiences with specific views. This enables feedback loops that never challenge or counter someone’s worldview. It’s not in a media outlets best interest to provide information that might offend or challenge their audience because they can just go somewhere else to feel validated.
Social media absolutely changed things, it flipped the dichotomy. Years ago if you heard ramblings or rumour from the mob about something, you would rely on media for verification. Now, if you hear some crap on media, you go to social media (the mob) for verification.
We been hearing towards second world status for awhile now, or as WaPo puts
it “The American Dream comes with a smaller yard”. Second world countries mostly rent, we’re headed that way and very low trust in media think Ukraine.
