Except those items are not being pushed by the govt. So, we have inflated demand because of the EV push. Thus govt subsidy is causing slavery…I know the climate cult does not care. The aztecs had a climate cult also…

@TommyLucchese is simply missing the point as usual.
Between this and the Natural CO2 Cycle thread, libs have shown and demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt that they really actually have nothing to bitch about, or to cry about, and they proved that all by themselves. At this point, they just squirt that mental diarrhea out of habit.
What those of us with any sense need to keep in mind is, these people are miserable dinosaurs looking out for their own personal comforts (nothing else), and they won’t even be here in 20-40 years. It’s up to the next generation to properly utilize these resources, and we need to encourage them to treat these valuable resources as such.

We are all guilty of hypocrisy to varying degrees. The Op is a great example of this but like Saf said something as mundane as eating a chocolate bar is contributing to modern day slavery.
But its not the political gotcha that some think.

By the way, Tesla has moved massively away from cobalt batteries.
Many other dealers will probably do so as well. The phosphate batteries are cheaper than cobalt batteries…the only drawback is a small hit to energy density.
As the global demand for Cobalt increases, what is the conservative solution to having it mined in an ethical manner where the labor is not mistreated and is fairly compensated?
