so brutal in fact I suspect it has nothing to do with anti-woke backlash
and is just plain old

Probably has to do with Walmart having a healthy internet sales and target failing to do so on every level.
Walmart purchased a bunch of online retailers for billions of dollars because it saw the future
Target is still better at brick and mortar but their online sales suck.

Yes, Target was doing great. Then look at the dates. They flattened out and started to decline when they started pushing trans celebration and related clothesâŚincluding for kids. And they added to that by doing unsupported attacks on half of their customer base. They alienated trans supporters by pulling back from their trans celebrations and then alienated conservatives by blaming alleged threats by them as the supposed cause for their pulling back.
Most tone deaf top management ever.

Yeah that flattened out. In huge part because of their inability to sell things online. Thatâs why the stock price plummeted too.
Itâs as easy to buy online from target as from Walmart. In fact, wit their red card you donât have to pay delivery expenses.
That is my reading of it.
the world was their oyster, They started to achieve escape velocity . . . and they ruined it.
(The stock decline was much deeper. Probably wokeness plus other stuff.
Gross sales dropped a little. Stock dropped a lot.)
Look at their online annual sales. Itâs not about personal experience. Stock prices never are . Neither is stumbling revenue growth
Stumbling growth, both online and in stores, is not necessarily a thing unrelated to offending half your customer base. I have seen enough comments elsewhere on the internet about never shopping at Target again to see that is going,to have an effect on their sales.

This will sound odd, but Iâve never stepped foot in a Target. Iâve never needed to. Iâm assuming they are like Walmart?
Iâve been to Walmart maybe a handful of times. Most notably to return their drug supply Fedex sent to me instead of their pharmacy. I got this big box of about 40 bottles of every oxy you can think of. Theyâre lucky it was sent to me.
If the two stores disappeared tomorrow, I wouldnât even notice.
Canât see it.
