Georgia school shooting 9/4/2024

 You posted that ^

Fauci is clever.

I don’t know about that. Store owners were victims, insurance pays.

The father is not a victim.

Chris Kyle

I was 10 the first time with an actual gun. My granddad was careful to teach as he introduced me to them. He had already been teaching me firearms safety with an airsoft rifle before that and the transition was natural.

In my opinion, not all parents. Just the ones who contribute to the crime.

There are a bunch of SMH quotes in the linked article.

The reason the hero (yes, HERO) got arrested:

“In Hawaii, we are a non ‘stand your ground’ state,” Honolulu Police Chief Joe Logan said, according to the Associated Press.

“Even if you have a license to carry, if you’re an individual that discharges a firearm that is involved in injuring another person … you’re going to be arrested.”

Just another reason not to live there.

And from a neighbor regarding the perpetrator:

“Hiram was really quiet guy and he always had ways of doing things, not Kosher or how you say it?” Philip Ganaban, a neighborhood board member, said. “He would fire off his gun, get drunk fire off his gun …”

Huh? That logic is reminiscent of “mostly peaceful protests” while the city block burns.

Easy? As compared to what? How it used to be?

Seems like they out to have an expert badge for being able to shoot 36 out of 40 pigeons on the wing.

What for? They arrested the Dad didn’t they?

What does your “if” have to do with it? The fact that there was an arrest and trial means that it was probably on the news (if your local media was doing its job.)

C’mon man, being intelligent does not preclude one from being capable with a gun. And the fact that teachers often die while attempting to protect the children (which also happened in this case) demonstrates that they have both the courage and the will to do what it takes to protect the children. Allowing teachers to have the chance to do that without being killed (instead of fruitlessly sacrificing themselves) is not only logical, it is a moral imperative.

Being intelligent does not mean someone would automatically be good with a gun. Which is what he assumes.

The murder charges are ridiculous. They should be thrown out by a Judge before the arraignment takes place. In fact, given the law in Georgia, most of the charges should be dropped. At most, I see him culpable for negligence regarding abetting homicides and perhaps child neglect. There might also be statutes regarding control over a rifle belonging to a child under the age of 16 that he could be charged with. Being stupid is not (unfortunately) a crime.

C’mon man … Lanza killed his mother to get the key to the gun safe. What else could she have done?

Careful. “Contribute” is a subjective word.

I didn’t say that it does and neither did he. But you are presuming that intelligence is a hindrance to teachers being capable of defending their student charges with a gun. That’s absurd.

It makes sense because most progressives don’t believe in self defense. You’re more likely to get charged for using a gun to defend yourself in a blue state than the criminal trying to victimize you, especially if the perp is an illegal.

Definitely a good point there. We know what our government does with definitional latitude.

Nobody said anything about “aUtOmAtiCalLy.”

Intelligent people are much, much easier to train to a higher level.

I love how you guys call cops “trained.”

They ought to teach POGUEs how insanely overcompensating and downright stupid they sound by trying to use basic rifle marksmanship as some kind of combat subject matter expertise.
