ALL I get in response is what you have seen in this very thread. “Other countries…” what is it about our culture that causes these people to acquire thru legal or other means a firearm and go shoot up a mall, school, party, etc???

Best I got was sharpshooter, never was able to get decent glasses when I was in. Had a hell of a time seeing the 500 yard target.
The mother of the young man who killed 26 people, mostly 6 and 7 yr-old children, at Sandy Hook school with her guns kept them locked in a safe.

There is no evidence of that. In fact, to the contrary, they saw fit to establish procedures in the Constitution for amending the Constitution. That belies your accusation that they were not toward thinkers.
This thread seems all about guns, so I will throw in a couple of other factors.
My kids middle school has a permanent on site policeman.
Also, the school has zero tolerance for bullying. Anyone engaged in this could quickly find themselves in a separate school for problem children.
Both of these things reduce the chances of something like this incident, IMO.
