Georgia school shooting 9/4/2024

Ok that does change a lot of things in regards to culpability on the father’s part. He really should have known better.

I think he should have kept firearms locked away from his 14 year old. Isn’t that the law?

Sounds like yes. Just like those Crumbly ■■■■■■ bags in Michigan. Lock him up.

Depends on local laws. It’s not the law here where I live. So long as they do not have “easy” access to the firearm then you’re legally clear in my county.

Basically if you leave your handgun out on a short living room table and your kid grabs it and shoots himself on accident then you will be held responsible.

Yeah I saw that in NC’s post. Sounds like the dad bought him the gun after his incident last year with threatening a school shooting.

The dad ■■■■■■ up bad.

Should every single gun owner be held responsible for what an idiot does?

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that sounds fake as ■■■■■

Hmmm. Sounds fake.

The kid had a really screwed up family situation:

Having restrictions on you ability to buy a gun is not ‘being held responsible’ any more than requiring headlights on your car is holding you responsible.

Why government? Why always government?

And the good people of Cuba are living proof of why our Founders adopted that amendment.

Our Founders intended ordinary citizens to keep and bear arms [a contemporary fire arm used by foot soldiers] so they would be ready and able to defend themselves against a despotic government if necessary. The AR-15-semi is a civilian version of the United States military’s M16 and ought to be kept by ordinary citizens to defend against a tyrannical government if necessary. Forewarned is forearmed.

What way will keep a 14 year-old out?

Do you lock your car keys in a safe at night?

They overcharged him.

Revenge.

That’s not real.

For better or worse, government has a tremendous affect on these things.

He could have been negligent. Manslaughter.

The murder is over charging.

I don’t think so. Buying him a gun after having FBI contact due to threats he was making is pretty damning.

Yep

Two days later, police arrested Marcee Gray at a Walmart in Winder due to an active warrant from another county. Police found methamphetamine, fentanyl, pain pills, and a glass pipe in her car, and she and another man who was in the vehicle were arrested, another sheriff’s report said.
