The AWB didn’t actually ban what you call “assault weapons.” It banned certain features on rifles like bayonet lugs and extended magazines. Manufacturers responded by making compliance rifles. And in many cases you could get everything you needed to turn it back into a proper “assault weapon” in the company’s own catalog. It was very much a feel good law.

Shhhhh, you are shooting holes in their fallback argument.

@TNT explain to the class what constitutes an “assault rifle”, what functional features, etc. For extra credit, tell the class what specifically was banned in the “assault weapons ban” that impacted functionality.

Hint…cosmetic features are not a functional piece.

Its only been recent like within the last 30 years have we seen school shootings. I have always believed since columbine. But i am sure there were school shootings before. I know we never saw anything like this in the 80s. What is it that gives kids the motive to do this sort of thing now? The rise of social media i am sure is a factor. But it doesnt fully explain all of it.

The gun grabbers ALWAYS avoid that question when I ask it. They always want to blame the easy things like firearms. They NEVER want to look at society itself.

One difference between 30 years ago and today…every year, we sell about 15 M more guns in the country. We’re up to about 120 guns per 100 people. The amount of guns in the US 30 years ago was much lower.

Can you imagine the hue and cry if the Harris administration tries to pass a law to tell people how to raise their boys in an effort to reduce mass shootings?

Well this one and his/ her parents were interviewed by local PD for threatening to shoot up a middle school when he/ she/ it was 13.

They don’t actually care about stopping mass shooters. Every Democratic politician is calling for gun bans today, right on cue.

If ya try to look up statistics on “mass shootings” you find it is frequently defined as any shooting with two or more victims.

• Two store clerks shot in a stick-up,
• Two gang bangers and a by-stander shot in a drive-by

Did he give the kid the gun? Unless he knew about the kids plan and gave him the firearm how on earth is he ultimately responsible?
