Hawaiian Senator Mazie Hirono left millions of Americans scratching their heads Monday; bizarrely suggesting that eliminating air travel is not “the crazy position” in combatting climate change.

Hirono was speaking with MSNBC when she was asked to clarify her position regarding the ‘Green New Deal’ championed by prominent Democrats from across the country.

“What the Green New Deal stands for is the recognition that climate change is happening and not sticking our heads in the sand. What’s really crazy is Trump and all his minions who think that global warming and climate change is not happening,” said the Senator.

“They offer absolutely zero in terms of what they would propose. All they can do is mock and attack, and I think that’s the crazy position,” she added.
