The Department of Homeland Security outlined a “strengthened” border security strategy with Canada Tuesday; unveiling the new procedures just days after Prime Minister Trudeau warned the United States that his country “will not be pushed around” by tariffs.

In a press release by the DHS, US officials detailed the policies that “establishes a clear vision and concrete actions that will improve DHS’s efforts to safeguard our northern border against terrorist and criminal threats, facilitate the safe and efficient flow of lawful cross-border trade and travel and strengthen cross-border critical infrastructure protection and community resilience."

Trudeau unveiled Canada’s newest rounds of tariffs against US goods over the weekend in retaliation for President Trump’s taxes on steel and aluminum; telling the G7 summit that his nation will not be “pushed around.”

“I have made it very clear to the president that it is not something we relish doing, but it is something that we absolutely will do,” Trudeau said. “As Canadians, we are polite, we’re reasonable, but also we will not be pushed around.”

Canada has always been our good neighbor and ally, fought with us in wars and worked with us so that both of our countries have a stable economy. Canadians are our good friends. I don’t know why Mr. Trudeau can’t understand that President Trump is simply trying to stabilize and strengthen America’s economy with “all” of our allies throughout the world, and not hurt his country or it’s people, but even the playing field for the US, who gives generously to all nations in need of help, but we are simply tired of footing the bill and getting nothing in return Mr. Trudeau !
