Foreigner? You pay more!

Some file a 1040NR.

Those fund the NPS.

Again, this is not about non-citizen residents. Tourist don’t file any tax forms.

I checked out the changes again and it does specify non US residents.

link?

No link necessary. I’m agree with you. The change does not reference citizenship. It specifically mentions residency.

The question then becomes who is considered a US Resident?

No it isn’t. Residency is well defined in State law. If you have established residency in any State you are a US resident.

What this really does is expose just how clueless you truly are regarding revenue and expenses. Oh yeah…that’s right. You live in California. I rest my case. :tumbler_glass:

Good to see Democrats standing up for American citizens in exactly the way we knew they would.

What?

I have no problem with the prices Americans pay for parks.

My issue is with raising the price 3x on non US residents.

If the parks are having a revenue issue… raise prices on everyone. Heck I’m even fine with US residents getting a 20% discount. However the new pricing is quite literally used to discourage foreign visitors.

I don’t like that

Those 11 Parks are overcrowded. Raising the fee for foreigners helps reduce the demand without discouraging US residents of availing themselves of the privilege of visiting the Parks that their taxes pay for.

I like that.

Yes, their at most, $20 a year in tax dollars.

“Average tax.” Almost half of wage earners pay no tax. And folks at that income level are unlikely to visit the Parks.

Furthermore, they pay taxes every year. Tourists mostly only pay the fee once in their lifetime.

Thanks for making my point even better

If everybody knew how crowded Yellowstone is nobody would go.

And if the fees were higher (which they will be) it will be less crowded. Now you can go and enjoy yourself.

You have no point. You just want to whine about something else that Trump’s Administration is doing.

Now y’all don’t want us to be like Europe??

If everybody thought like that then it would be crowded again.

Only if they are willing to pay the higher entrance fees.

This is why price controls don’t work. When cost is adjusted to fit a fixed supply (as the Parks are) then demand is controllable. If cost is fixed along with supply while demand goes up, chaos ensues. The higher fees for those over-visited Parks keep chaos at bay.

I’d like to see a $10,000 entrance fee for Yellowstone. Then I’d go visit.
