I agree with this. When the government sends people checks, it’s always a scam.
That would be the sensible thing to do but Trump is a populist and knows human nature. If these go out in the next year (and its really a big if) , Republicans win the mid terms $5k is a big chunk of change to most people.

Well, I was told if we stop funding this stuff then we won’t win the hearts and minds and those transgendered Nepalese show tune singers might pick-up Kalashnikovs and start shooting Americans.
