Some solid oak stairs I built, no lockmiters here! 3 inch thick solid oak planed down to 2-3/4". The treads are mortised into the stringers, as are the newel posts for the railings. The railings are doweled into the posts and I put in glass panels set into grooves in the tops of the stringers and bottoms of the handrails. Homeowner didn’t like what the architect drew for them and asked me if I had any better ideas. Another project that I knew instantly what it would be from start to finish.
I’m easing out for the night - ill post about OBEL tomorrow.
It is deceivingly difficult to attain a large flat surface.
Awesome job.
LOL!!!
Very cool!
This is the countertop i made for our downstairs kitchen.
Used stonecoat epoxy…
Not too happy with the edges tho…
Here is a partial pic of the countertop installed… along with the new doors i built.
I have full shots on video but won’t let me post video…
This is the before picture of the kitchen…
Built a flight and rolling cabinet for our finches…
Bought sawn cypress (sp?) to build a new flight…
The customer wanted them, I didn’t ask questions or care. We build anything they want, usually from pictures in Architectural Digest etc. Just a photo, that’s all I need, I build it in my head within seconds of seeing the picture somehow, every detail. I think I’m a woodworker savant or something.
I just wondered, seems an odd place for an outlet. What the heck would anyone use an outlet there for?
Now thats cool…
You do some really nice work…
I also make hidden shelves and growth charts for friends and family…
Ha! That’s clever as hell.
I bought some red and white oak, maple and cypress for projects…
Built a place to store the wood…
Very cool!
Thanks. Alot of great work posted…
I am an accountant by trade. Mine is just stuff to keep me busy…
I am in the process of building a 6 foot frame for my next cement draping project… a three level waterfall that feeds into a cave before draining into the pond…
I bought this powder additive that you can added to cement/concrete to make it completely waterproof. Had to buy a case of it that is enough for 4 cement trucks…
