For the woodworkers here...tips, discussion etc

Some solid oak stairs I built, no lockmiters here! 3 inch thick solid oak planed down to 2-3/4". The treads are mortised into the stringers, as are the newel posts for the railings. The railings are doweled into the posts and I put in glass panels set into grooves in the tops of the stringers and bottoms of the handrails. Homeowner didn’t like what the architect drew for them and asked me if I had any better ideas. Another project that I knew instantly what it would be from start to finish.

This is the countertop i made for our downstairs kitchen.

Used stonecoat epoxy…

Not too happy with the edges tho…

I just wondered, seems an odd place for an outlet. What the heck would anyone use an outlet there for?

I bought some red and white oak, maple and cypress for projects…

Built a place to store the wood…



A maple coffee table and end table I made for a friend. Made a few other live edge projects.

I am an accountant by trade. Mine is just stuff to keep me busy…

I am in the process of building a 6 foot frame for my next cement draping project… a three level waterfall that feeds into a cave before draining into the pond…

I bought this powder additive that you can added to cement/concrete to make it completely waterproof. Had to buy a case of it that is enough for 4 cement trucks…
