Florida Supreme Court gives both abortion sides a win

  1. They upheld 15 week ban.

  2. They cleared the abortion rights measure for the November ballot.

In the short term, DeSantis wins.

In the long term, either side could win.

While it is a win for the voters in the long term, it is something of a loss for the Republican Party. The Democratic Party in Florida has been something of a mess in recent electoral cycles. With the choice option driving more people to the polls than the life option is recent races the Republicans will have to put a lot more money into holding Florida for Trump as well as the Florida Senate seat than they would have had to without the abortion vote.

With fund raising for the Republicans lagging across the board – this could affect votes nationally unless Republicans improve their fund raising dramatically.
