General Charles Q. Brown Jr. will be the first black Chief of Staff of any military branch in the United States.

On August 14, 2020, current Command Chief Master Sergeant JoAnne S. Bass will become the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force. She will be the first woman to hold the position of Senior Enlisted Advisor in any military branch of the United States.
