Fetterman: "Have some dignity."

He’s talking about the SOTU address. Democrats looked like Veruca Salt last year and they will no doubt be worse this year. They have no self control so they will be a mess. The republicans on the other hand must be prepared for the worst case scenario. The democrats will try to take over the address and make it about Epstein, ICE raids and a host of other grievances. The republicans need to make it clear that if they try to shut down or shout down the president the democratic children will be removed. This address is required by the constitution for the president to address congress. It’s not meant for an opportunity for congress to scream at the President. They need to make sure that congress understands this and there will be consequences for not displaying proper decorum. This is an address, not a protest. We shall see if the Republicans are ready.

I was waiting for that!!! Super stupid excuse.

Because one republican acted improperly for less than two seconds, you believe that the entire democratic party should take control of the President’s speech? Dipshiddery on parade and you’re leading the March.

Were Dems a problem during the last one?

That’s for you to decide. I’m not worried about the last one. My thread is about this speech. Libs have totally lost their minds and are consumed by hate. The republicans just need to be ready if they try to prevent the president of fulfilling his constitutional requirement. Have a plan. It’s better to have a plan and not need it, then to not have a plan.

Anyone trying to disrupt the speech should be immediately removed.

Good answer. I’m guessing the republicans might give them some lee way at the beginning, but they need to be ready for it to go downhill fast.

The time for acting stupid is after the speech. During the speech, you act dignified and listen intently. Let’s be adults for once.

There is no more calls for proper behavior. Trying to call for decorum during this administration is hilarious.

Who gives a crap what they do. In todays world the SOTU speech is not even needed.

Its not like any President is going to say anything but the SOTU is good.

The Alt Rock Band??? Why would Dems look like Verucca Salt!

Those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

Actually, the house has a person ceremonially assigned to do just that, and he even has a ceremonial weapon.

His title is Sergeant at Arms
and his weapon is a “mace”
9whihc my friends and I used to call “the bonking stick.”

I don’t know if it has ever been used, but the Sergeant at Arms has politely and patiently escorted people out in the past… presumably to a waiting group of reporters.

Technically the President is not required to give a speech to both houses of Congress. All they arr required to do is submit a written statement explaining the State of the Union.

Beginning wiht Jefferson
It was delivered that way for a century.

I think after the dems make asses of themselves again this year,
Beginning next year, he should deliver it as a highly-produced video

No, it’s not. While it fulfills the requirement in Article II, Section 3, Clause 1 of the U.S. Constitution that the president “shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient”, there is no requirement that it be an in person address. It was not that way until 1913.

Lol. One…

Yep. This is what Fetterman was talking about.

The constitution says it is needed.

One person steps in poop, others should step in it as well?
