Because they are loaded terms thrown around by both sides. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. It just means things get blown out of proportion and dramatized unnecessarily.

“Indoctrination” is a loaded word politically. It’s used by conservatives to mean “bad”. Which is not necessarily true
I agree. Indoctrination is not necessarily bad. Especially if you are seeking compliance and deep engagement.
Soldiers for example are thoroughly indoctrinated. It’s kind of the only way you can get them to do insane things.
High School and college team athletes are indoctrinated.
The clergy.
Indoctrination is designed to destroy old values and replace them with new. To instill dogma. To reduce resistence.
To transform the individual so he can fulfill his supreme duty; that of being a perfect member of the organization.
The type of indoctrination, the type of organization, is the critical factor.

Guarantee they wouldn’t prosecute someone nearly as hard for vandalizing a church. That’s the religious right, they don’t need special protections. ACLU would drop them like a rock.

Churches are soft targets and lack adequate video surveillance. It is hard to prosecute with no idea who is committing the crime.

A teen was arrested in west palm beach, under hate crime laws too.
Can’t do anything at all that pisses off the gays, it’s a hate crime. Thought crime.

A 19-year-old is facing charges after police said he intentionally vandalized the an LGBTQ+ Pride intersection in the city of Delray Beach.
Doesn’t say he’s been charged with a hate crime.
The Palm Beach County Human Rights Council declared Brewer’s actions should be considered a hate crime.
