So it appears that our favorite Somali pirate made an appointment to do a wellness check on some of her fellow pirates who have been detained by ICE. ICE requires a one week notice before each visit. Our money laundering queen gave 8 days. So when she gets there, the place was empty. No pirates! Where’d they go you ask? They were deported in the morning before Ilhan showed up. I guess she would call them “disappeared?” Either way, how dare they show such disrespect to the fine lady who referred to them as fascists, nazis and Gestapo. How rude! On the upside. If she gets a non stop flight, she might be able to catch up to them at baggage claim in the Mogadishu airport.
Federal law says congressional members can visit detention facilities unannounced or with little notice, but the Trump administration issued a new policy requiring seven days’ notice. A federal court reaffirmed the no-notification policy in a recent lawsuit, but the administration continues with its policy.
A rope–a-dope in violation of a court order. Har-dee-har-har. Take that you Commies.
Unfortunately, federal law does not state that they have to keep the pirates until their captain shows up to chat. They can deport them on the next plane. Which is apparently what they did. Say what you will about ICE. But they’re not stupid. If they can get the Pirates, the hell out of here before some nitwit lib judge orders them released and you can butthurt Omar too? Well, that’s golden. A win win.
“Haha! ICE deported some detainees before any third party could confirm whether or not ICE abused them during their detention! That makes me feel good!”
the D.C. Department of Corrections (DOC) told The Hill in a statement the trio showed up “unannounced with an unauthorized camera crew requesting a facility tour.”
“By doing so, these officials compromised safety and security operations at the DOC. Safety and security related to DOC’s facilities, staff and residents is a high priority and for that reason DOC has established procedures and protocols related to visits to its facilities. All visitors, which includes family members of residents, attorneys, and public officials, must adhere to the rules and procedures of the DOC,” the statement added.

Is this the same thing as giving the proper notice?
