FBI Report stresses importance of armed civilians engaging active shooters

In a report you won’t hear getting much press on The Big Three, CNN or MSNBC the FBI dissects active shooter scenarios and cites the importance of both armed and unarmed intervention by average people in bringing them quickly to an end minimizing casualties.

Fairfax, VA – -(Ammoland.com)- “Armed and unarmed citizens engaged the shooter in 10 incidents. They safely and successfully ended the shootings in eight of those incidents.

Their selfless actions likely saved many lives. The enhanced threat posed by active shooters and the swiftness with which active shooter incidents unfold support the importance of preparation by law enforcement officers and citizens alike.”

Those are the final lines in the conclusion of the FBI’s Active Shooter Incidents in the United States in 2016 and 2017.
The FBI defines an active shooter as one or more individuals actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a populated area. Gang and drug-related shootings are excluded. “The active aspect of the definition inherently implies that both law enforcement personnel and citizens have the potential to affect the outcome of the event based upon their responses to the situation.”

Ten active shooters were confronted by citizens. In four incidents, the responding citizens were unarmed; these heroes include school staff, the shooter’s girlfriend, and a man who intentionally struck the shooter with his car. Six shooters were confronted by armed citizens. Four shooters were stopped by lawfully armed citizens. One citizen was wounded as he confronted the shooter. “In one incident, a citizen possessing a valid firearms permit exchanged gunfire with the shooter, causing the shooter to flee to another scene and continue shooting.” Unsurprisingly, it seems that these criminal cowards preferred targets incapable of defending themselves.

I feel so proud of those average people who stand up to an active shooter situation and potentially save many lives. Then you hear about a school guard who hid and didn’t engage the shooter that potentially cost the lives of many young adults. Who can say what you’ll do, if that time crosses your path but one thing we do know…“if” it does, you’re better off being armed.

This should be interesting.

It’s hard to kill people when you’re being shot at.

Are they realizing that big goverment cannot protect the people in a free society? That it’s up to the people to do that themselves if they want to remain free?

Libs got so dependent on goverment that they have threaten our very freedom.

When seconds count, call 911. The cops are just minutes away.

Most people do not realize that simple truth at all. They’re the victims of life-long propaganda.

Many people just don’t WANT to recognize that simple truth. Such recognition would require acceptance of the fact that ultimately they are responsible for their own security and well being…and that stands in opposition to the abject level of dependency they have been conditioned to accept.

Most people have simply been conditioned to believe that A) nothing bad is going to happen to them and that B) the gov’t will protect you if it does.

Both are simply completely untrue.

The larger the population of the area you live in the more people are conditioned to believe the above and the more untrue it is.

In reality, almost universally the areas with the highest rates of violent crimes are those with the largest populations.

It’s more an issue of B. We have systematically weeded out any sense of independence and self responsibility from many among us. They have been robbed of their emotional growth through continuous placating of their wants and as result, haven’t grown beyond the adolescent parental dependence stage. They’ve simply transferred that dependence to whatever authority figure is prevalent in the situation. We’re now reaping the rewards of that folly.

Can’t really argue with any of that.
