I saw the Irishman. Had to reactivate my cancelled Netflix to see it. TLDR: It’s crap. Ashamed of Scorsese.
I had avoided reading details of the movie so was disappointed when it turned out it was based on that fake confession/book about the killing of Hoffa and the implications about the murder’s of the Kennedys.
DeNiros anti Trump insane rants, are word for word what Al Pacino as Hoffa says, about killing the Kennedys. At one point Hoffa see the Teamsters flag at half staff after killing JFK and has it raised back up.
Imagine a Goodfellas replay without the comedy, or Stone’s JFK, without any action or pizazz. Even a raving Al Pacino or steel-eyed Joe Pesci, can’t save it from being a lousy, movie rehash that glorifies these gangster scum.
.
Old tired garbage.
I also saw Lucy in the Sky. a very failed movie that could have been a great movie. Here too I hadn’t read anything about it, so I had no idea it was about Lisa Nowak, the cheating astronaut who went psycho. It SHOULD have been a comedy, or at least included more details and courtroom drama.
Didn’t like the original Pet Sematary. Although John Lithgow is an excellent actor.
I think it’s a shame it seemed to take forever for Mr. King to get his best work—Bag of Bones—made into a movie, yet there have already been two Pet Sematary films.
By time Bag of Bones, starring Pierce Brosnan, came to cable, I had already lost interest.
