Fascism-What is it?

CFR Link

What does fascism mean?
Many experts agree that fascism is a mass political movement that emphasizes extreme nationalism, militarism, and the supremacy of the nation over the individual.

And although fascist leaders typically claim to support the everyman, in reality, their regimes often align with powerful business interests.

Do we all agree?

Most of us agree at this point that “fascist” is as worthless a thing to call someone as a “racist” or a “communist” etc..

It’s all played out, and now it will all play out.

Agree with the first part. Second part is optional.

Mass political movement-check

Extreme nationalism?

Militarism?

Nation over individual?

Not with a 10 foot pole.

Yes. Depending on how you’d classify them, you could say Peron and pre-WWII Japan did not favor business interests. Most have/do, however.

You’re calling Peron a fascist?

Fascists are national socialists, while Communists are international socialists.

Fascists emphasize racial and ethnic differences, while Communists emphasize class differences.

Both are authoritarian.

Not bad. A bit of an oversimplification, neh Bill?

Fascists normally allow a market economy and personal property, while communists reject them.

China has arguably moved from communism to a form of fascism after the death of Mao.

Sure. Neither political party in the US is calling for an end to elections and an all powerful central government.
You can say one wants too much government and both sides do,say that. Usually they just mean the other side is using what power they have for some purpose that the name caller does not, agree.
Like racism, fascism is used as a word bomb saying I’m not here to discuss, I’m here to have a temper tantrum.

Fascism-What is it?

Whatever the leftards don’t like this week.

The original Fascist, Benito Mussolini, stated:
“everything in the state, nothing against the state, nothing outside the state,”

I don’t think there are many “clean” examples of fascism. Peron had some fascist ideologies which fit the first part of the definition you gave. Nationalism, militarism and nation over individual.

Peron was a socialist nationalist.

Fascism is a political philosophy.

Am I a “leftard”?

Mmmmmm

You have provoked thought.
