A judge today three out Donald Trumpâs defamation suit against E Jean Carroll.
Trump claimed Carroll defamed him by saying he had raped her when a jury held for Trump on the rape count.
Several posters saw this verdict as a vindication of Trumpâs moral standing.
Todayâs ruling pointed out that the jury correctly applied a narrow legal definition of rape but that most people would regard the assault was found guilty of would be called rape by most people.
This clears the way for Carrollâs suit against Trump and should allay fears that a jury in a largely Democratic city wonât treat Trump

"Mr. Trump, who is seeking to regain the presidency, had countersued in June, arguing that Ms. Carroll should not have continued to say that he raped her after the juryâs decision, and that her comments to CNN after the verdict sullied his reputation.
In the ruling on Monday, Judge Lewis A. Kaplan wrote that the juryâs finding implicitly determined that Mr. Trump had forcibly penetrated Ms. Carroll with his fingers, which he said amounts to rape as the term is commonly used, outside of the narrower legal definition that the jury was required to consider."
In a quick check, it appears that neither the Fox nor Newsman sites covered this story. OAN has it, with an article that extensively quotes Trumpâs original denials of any relationship to Harris and specifically trumpets that the jury found for Trump on the rape charge.

Crooked Donald couldnât keep his mouth shut after his first loss, so Carroll sued him again.
TODAY, in the second defamation case, the Court ruled that her win in the previous case carries over to this case, and the suit will proceed with the jury only having to decide the $$$$$$$ Carroll will win.

Or maybe he is someone who just believes he is above the law and who has reinforced that belief by decades of paying lawyers to settle matters out of court without ever admitting culpability.
Oh well, this probably will help Trump generate another round of fund raising from his fanbase.

Based on previous discussion with Trump cultists, this is just good business practice and the contractors should have done a better job or hired better lawyers. Its the usual round robin of excuses.
Trump can do no wrong, he can only be wronged. But its not a cult.
