Seems like the DOJ has been investigating Google for some time now.
So probably this action has nothing to do with more recent censorship like activity of Big Tech.
Probably necessary.
Sounds generally that they are alleging Google has been doing what Microsoft was alleged to be doing with the Internet Explorer. As I recall Microsoft agreed to conditions to settle…after Netscape collapsed.
After witnessing Senators question the tech giants and making it clear that they were a bunch of old farts, that had no understanding of the entity they were questioning, I sure hope the DoJ is more prepared?
Timing is meh. Google needs to be slapped around the way eu has been slapping them around.
There is nothing wrong here but of course this could have been done anytime in the past four years
Length of DOJ investigation probably means it was thorough.
Hopeful they got the goods -evidence to prevail in court at the end of these proceedings.
