I once had a manager fired because he was withholding a promotion from his subordinate because she didn’t go out with him for drinks. He only asked her twice in 6 months. She told HR that she didn’t feel pressured. However HR told her that her promotion was approved but that her manager did not follow through because he wanted a date.
He was obviously fired.
