Do Democrats Support Freedom for Cuba?

Indeed…

Here’s a map

Most of the names on that map would be really happy to see some Americans show up with bags of money and ideas. Or even just a pocket of money and a need for a tan and a daiquiri.

A couple names on that map would really rather not.

Republicans: Let’s go to the ones that don’t want us, and ignore the ones that do.

Which ones?

To aid the people of Cuba to gain their freedom.

Oh. How should we do that?

Ok with me, so was Nicaragua. I don’t want our troops in it, just give them arms to take their freedom. One less Marxist regime.

Ah. The “golden opportunity” question was originally from DMK, who has not yet answered.

You have already answered, sorry to pester you.

Thank you.

If the government has been overthrown and a new democratic government is installed we could open up trade. Possibly even invest in property and tourism (hotels) etc.

Democrats don’t want a people’s revolution because it would make democracy look good instead of socialism. Meanwhile the Biden admin is doing its best to lose Florida and Texas again! It’s not about vaccines! I always thought that was a stupid comment from the White House. Siding with oppressive regime talking points.

Marco isn’t wrong!

You know, we can do most if not all of that by ending the sanctions regime.

I say this because it looks like the government isn’t going anywhere.

What should he do?

If the government isn’t going anywhere then the sanctions (hopefully) stay in place.

Don’t you think it would be wonderful if Cuba became a free country? If folks could invest, pay great wages, people had food and didn’t have to wait in line for their rations?

I would love to see a free Cuba.

I really wish we had made it a state back in the day. Alas.

As would I. We have an opportunity right now to help that happen.

Making it free could happen now. The momentum is there.

Conflict.

Those who bought in now want to buy out.

So, to SneakySFDude’s mind, states aren’t free. And since the country is merely the sum of the states, America is not a free country.

Correct. And neither are you.
