Do Democrats Support Freedom for Cuba?

That explains a great deal.

Indeed. How many laws are there?

If only we can go back to 1955

I am not interested in that discussion.

Instead, I’d like to ask you some questions if you don’t mind.

First off: is there a country more free than the U.S.? If so, what country is that?

Yes, many. Afghanistan for example.

I see. I appreciate your answer, especially in relation to the freedom exemplified thread. Thanks.

How would we do that?

Yeah, that piece seems a bit slippery. Some of them support arming the Cuban people. You know, cuz America has such success with other people’s civil wars.

Still others think we should just keep up the sanctions. I am skeptical of that, given that our Cuban sanctions are older than I am. However, they may (finally) be onto something given that Cuba’s last, best sponsor (Venezuela) is faltering.

Personally, I think the best shot is engagement. I really wish Trump had not reversed Obama’s policy of re-opening.

Why are they protesting?

deteriorating living conditions and the medical attention amid increasing numbers of coronavirus infections.

But generally, it appears to be a protest against the regime in full.

I asked the same question two days ago. Unsurprisingly there was no answer.

Given that the country is already sanctioned to the hilt, there’s not much more we can do in that regard. Biden did issue additional sanctions on specific regime officials and entities though.

And you want to bail out the government by opening up?

One.

Well, like I said the sanctions are older than I am, and yet Cuba endures.

In any event, I think we should have given the re-opening more time

Jbiden can open it up at any time.

That is true.

Start with internet access so they can communicate.

Drop supplies. Show support.

We’re the one preventing them from getting “supplies”.
