The issue was moot regardless of when Pelosi sent the articles over or when McConnell would accept them.
It was moot because rushing them over a few days before Jan 20 would still have done nothing. Trump was not going to do anything in that week that passing an article of impeachment would have prevented him from doing.
It might have been Constitutionally unquestioned if he was still President, but it would still have been a moot issue with no purpose in voting to impeach.
Preventing people from voting for him in some imagined future election? What’s the matter with having the people decide in a democratic republic?
But you don’t see conservatives banning you from saying things like abortion is good, tax the rich, open borders are good, too bad you went broke because we shut you down, drugs are good should I continue?
