He probably thought - and maybe still thinks - he’ll get away with it. He’s only got to make it another 2 weeks, and all the records proving him a liar can’t possibly be released (at least legally) before the election.

It is odd though not impossible that someone with his record would find the need to augment that record with lies. In any case, that is up to the people of Montana to contemplate, not me.

Yes, in many circumstances that’s exactly what they do. I know three or four people with bullets in their bodies that have been there for a decade or more.
Digging a bullet out will do much more damage than the bullet did going in, most of the time.
Why did the hospital call the Park Rangers, and say they have an individual with a gunshot wound in the ER?
Do you think they couldn’t tell the difference between a gunshot wound and a slip-and-fall in the woods?
