I don’t know the artists that made it, I don’t follow country music. My mother introduced me to the Allman brothers as a child and I could see them making it.
Ya I really loved the muse once I was introduced to Queen and Tool it was hard to find other bands that fill that void until I found the Muse.

I meant Muse. Personal Jesus is the only Depeche Mode song I’ve heard. It’s ok, but I can’t say I love it.
Most people have heard the first song. The 2nd to a lesser extent.
I still listen to 60’s music mostly. 
The second one definitely not. The first sounds slightly familiar. Guess I kind of got stuck in the 60’s/70’s/ & even some 80’s, lol.
