There’s many on the Left who argue that crime is a function of people not having a job, recall AOC for instance claiming that people were committing crime to put food on the table to feed their families. It also explains why they don’t believe in prosecuting shoplifting crime either. But now with many jobs available logically we should see major reductions in crime, but is that the case? Is the criminal population in the US now feverishly applying for and filling the available jobs?
Those on the Left also argue that we need these millions of people flowing across the border in order to fill all the jobs that are currently available. Really? Are there not enough Americans who are not working and just as capable of those flowing across the border available to work? Exactly how many Americans who are capable of working are not in the labor force? I would assume it’s over easily over 10 million. Should we not get every American into these jobs before flooding our labor force with people coming to our southern border?
Those on the Left also argue that bringing in millions and millions of the world’s impoverished citizens will pay off big economically in the long run. The irony here is that they cry about how so many Americans struggle economically and hence need much assistance from big government, yet they believe that most/all these people coming from abject poverty, with little to no education, no marketable skills will all be contributors to the economy and not takers from the US taxpayers.
NOTE: Immigration in the context here has NOTHING to do with needs/merit based immigration as utilized by every other industrialized nation with modern economies, which the Left does not believe in.
But Mateus, who is among the more than 21,400 migrants and asylum-seekers who have come to New York since the spring, remains barred from employment by federal policy.
Amnesty laws talk about people being persecuted for their political beliefs, religion or race. We all know it is the economy that is driving these people across our border. Amnesty is just a tool these people have been told to use. If it continues to be fraudulently applied in masse, then we should come to terms with that. Just as Democrats came to terms with automatic Cuban amnesty when their politics in Florida became obvious.
You mean asylum. Nonetheless, the thread is not about asylum. One of the arguments from those on the Left is that we should welcome exponentially higher levels of migration into the US because it will be good for the economy.
