Getting back to the original question involving sanctuary city officials.
It was asked “How can they [sanctuary city officials] harbor if they don’t know an individuals’ immigration status? It’s out of their jurisdiction.”
And the answer was: They know when a detainer is issued by ICE which these city officials ignore in order to harbor illegal entrants.

There is no surer way to weaken, subdue, demoralize and then conquer a prosperous and freedom loving people than by allowing and encouraging the poverty stricken, poorly educated, low-skilled, criminal and diseased populations of other countries to invade that country, and make the country’s existing citizens tax-slaves to support the economic needs of such invaders.
No one made the assertion it’s needed in all cases. It IS needed in this case. The burden is on the local government, and since they don’t provide the probably cause and are just relying on ICE, the prudent thing is to require a warrant. Otherwise, they can get smacked with a lawsuit for unconstitutional detainment (which HAS happened).
It has even happened in cases the person who is detained is a ■■■■■■■ US citizen.
