True, but I thought we were talking about the billions we send to other countries…why can’t we let Americans keep that cash rather than spending on other countries?
In 2019 US foreign aid was $39B which was less then 1% of our total budget.
The last breakdown was done for fiscal year 2016 and was 42% was spent on long-term development, 33% was spent on military and security aid, 14% was spent on humanitarian aid, and 11% was spent on political aid.
This investment goes a long way to keep us in the good graces of a lot of countries and therefore helps keep the peace. It also helps quite a few countries who get slammed by natural disasters.
It’s all about creating a money laundering operation, just as was the case with Obama’s green energy scheme in which 80% of green energy money taxed away from the wages of hard working American Citizens WENT TO Obama’s corporate donors!
Keep in mind, our federal government is charged with protecting the United States against “invasions”, and not submitting to blackmail.
For the mere cost of 39 billion a year, hardly the price of 3 aircraft carriers, you too can help a few downtrodden corrupt governments stay afloat. Act now and they’ll send you there “good graces”…and this lovely coffee mug.
Of course helping the people of other countries during time of natural disaster or other such issues is a noble cause. But besides the occasional need to have leverage over governments to force them to fire inconvenient prosecutors, what is the tangible value of all these “good graces” we keep buying with taxpayer cash? I mean, clearly the “good graces” we bought in the past wasn’t enough to prevent the border issues we’re having now. So, what did we actually get for our money?
When it comes to helping the needy in foreign countries, our Democrat Party Leadership has no moral compass whatsoever. They refuse to make the distinction between CHARITABLE GIVING and tax tyranny to support the needy,
Investing? It’s really called bribery, and our country paying this bribery for generations has only made the rulers of the nation’s involved richer, while the people they rule over with an iron fist continue to suffer.
