The Israeli Government blocked controversial Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar’s impending trip to the Jewish State last week; officially ending their “Delegation to Palestine” tour before it even began.
The liberal lawmakers touted the trip as a humanitarian effort to uncover the “truth” about the “Israeli Occupation,” but the official itinerary shows the tour focused on meeting with Palestinian activists and far-left Israeli organizations promoting their BDS -or Boycott, Divestment, and Sanction- movement.
Where were Tlaib and Omar planning to visit? See the itinerary below:
August 18 – Arrive in Tel Aviv.
- Meet with Embassy Staff, Human Rights Organizations.
August 19 – Travel to Jerusalem.
- Tour of the city, Meetings with Afro-Palestinian community, briefing from Fatina Hodali on settlements around Jerusalem, Bedouin community.
August 20 – Travel to Hebron and Bethlehem
- Meetings to discuss Palestinian economy, financial sector, potential investments, tour of Refugee Camp, Palestinian Central Bank.
