nope. you report that the experiment and methodology you used could not falsify the hypothesis. because that’s all that you’ve shown. the logical leap to true is unsupported.
First, no one is being condescending… not me anyways. Did you see the couple posts I had with Sneaky about words having two meanings in the scientific arena? That’s precisely why I opened the entire post with “Let’s just demonstrate to ensure this isn’t something being lost in language.”
The hypothesis in this example predicts they will hit at the same time. However, to stay inline with the course of our conversation, I stated “We attempt to falsify the hypothesis…”. If you’re attempting to falsify a hypothesis, then you would conduct an experiment where the prediction would not support the hypothesis. So, if you have a better idea to attempt to falsify a hypothesis in this example, let me know.
We’re obviously talking beyond each other now, and I got work to do, so Im gonna have to bow out a this point. I’ll just leave with apologies if you honestly thought I was being condescending.
if the hypothesis were that the object with greater mass would fall faster then the prediction would be in line and the experiment would falsify it.
with your hypothesis, the prediction would be they hit together, and when they do you’ve only shown your experiment can’t falsify it. not that its true.
We have the benefit of knowledge. the first guy who did this a thousand years ago didn’t and may have thought the ball might hit first and may have been trying to prove it would.
as for the rest… perhaps I’m reading more than is there, if you had no intent, no need to apologize
back to the subject of the thread

why is fed money being used to hire local cops?
It’s not. It’s being used to buy votes.
