I like good natured humor and roasts. But this was just plain mean spirited. Not that Trump and Company don’t deserve it. But the WHCD is a charity event. Have some respect.
Many of my liberal friends said they couldn’t stop laughing. I might have chuckled once but this was not the kind of comedy I appreciate.

I can confidently say, even without having seen any of it, that it can’t possibly be as entertaining as listening to anti-PC Trumpists swooning over how rude, impolitic, and crass it was. When, oh when, will this nation turn from such crudity and return to a more civil time?

The leader of the free world refuted Megan Kelly by saying she was on her period. This was disgusting and ignorant.
I on the other hand made a joke about Sarah’s lazy ass eye. Disgusting perhaps, but ignorant? No, at least my statement has basis in fact. Quite the opposite of ignorant.

I think if there is some real respect between the administration and the press by the administration it would’ve been a better event. But I think at least some of that was a reaction to the way the press has been treated by this administration. Not that I agree with dealing with it that way but it’s not all that surprising really.

Any country can have a crass, mean spirited, disgusting, ridiculous, lying piece of ■■■■ leader. That isn’t what makes America great. “Crass” comedians dressing down that leader with jokes is what makes America great. The only true disgusting people are the ones who want those comedians to shut up.

Trump, however, represents almost everything wrong with the concept of toxic masculinity that I thought we were conquering but clearly had had a resurgence especially in my generation. As an example and inspiration, Trump’s life of deplorable behavior is truly far more harmful.
