Congo and Rwanda sign a US-mediated peace deal aimed at ending decades of bloody conflict

Well that sucks for some people. :joy: first Israel and Iran and now Rwanda and the Congo with the added bonus of access to minerals for the US.

Trump has got to go…

Hope it sticks. It needs stable governments to do so and the nations of Africa don’t have a long history of that.

Hoping also, but there has to be a start and we now have that. It’s a process for sure.

To be fair, Rwanda has a super stable dictatorship under Paul Kagame. It’s a dictatorship, but it’s stable.

Only way I see this sticking for Kagame is if Congo agrees to turn over the Genocidaires still hanging out in eastern Congo. That’s where all those guys went to after the genocide of the Tutsis in Rwanda in 1994.

US mineral rights are part of the deal. Money talks

Aww maaannnn!!

What will the left do when their “leaders” are finally arrested and jailed, and the only people in the world still fighting are their dial-a-mobs??

Impeach 47!!!

Good. Excellent.

It’s excellent news.

The problem is that they were negotiating with the finance guys. The actual guys doing the murdering are a para military group.

The Rwandan government will hopefully cease the funding but the end result is going to be war lords in the Congo as the Rwandan para military assimilates in the places where they were just murdering.

And this is not a shot at the deal or the Trump admin. They did the right thing by negotiating with the finance guys.

It would have been much tougher to negotiate with the group itself Nevermind giving it legitimacy
