GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson pleaded the fifth amendment before the House of Representatives this week; refusing to answer questions surrounding his shady opposition research firm and the infamous ‘Trump Dossier.’

“The co-founder of opposition research firm Fusion GPS Glenn Simpson pleaded the Fifth Amendment on Tuesday to House Republicans who were seeking his testimony on the role his company played in creating an investigation into Donald Trump’s presidential campaign,” writes the Washington Examiner.

“Mr. Simpson has proudly stood today on his constitutional privileges not to testify,” said a statement from his lawyer.

“The House Judiciary Committee has subpoenaed Mr. Simpson to appear today for testimony, and this committee has shown no interest that Russia interfered in the 2016 election,” he added.

Simpson was expected to face tough questions regarding his firm, the debunked ‘Trump Dossier,’ and his relationship with former British spy Christopher Steele.
