CNN found liable for defamation. Again

I think CNN turns things around in 2025.

But they definitely deserved this with all the material that came out around this hearing.

Good. But does he have a punchable face? That’s the important question. Cuz then it’s not defamation

Now the trial moves to the punitive damages phase. That $5 Million figure is going to get a lot larger.

I would guess ten fold, minimum.

Damn, I just went through some workplace violence training…and then I read this question from you.

Should I be calling someone?

Ha! It’s a reference to the story but then again maybe you should call somebody :upside_down_face:

Wonder how much he will get after the legal fees and the lawyers cut.

I have heard (obviously not proof) of cases where plaintiffs have been awarded couple of million but left with a few hundred thousand $$$ after the lawyers dip their beak.

Settlement phase.

We remain proud of our journalists and are 100% committed to strong, fearless and fair-minded reporting at CNN, though we will of course take what useful lessons we can from this case.

The lesson of fact checking before putting reports on air.

I actually considered going back to law school after I earned my CPA and CRFAC credentials as a law license would have given me even more earning potential. But law schools tend to limit the amount of time you can work while studying for your degree, so I chose not to take that route. At the time, I was working 60 - 70 hours a week anyway - so I had my hands full.

No. Punchable faces are a real thing.
