CNBC: Costco selling as much as $200 million in gold bars monthly, Wells Fargo estimates

End of 2023 they were selling $100m a quarter.

Now it is $100-$200m a month!

I wish I could tap into whatever wholesale market they get their inventory from.

I’ve been told they get (only) a 2-and-a-half-percent markup,
but they hold the gold for such a short time (like 2 days or something) that it amounts to a huge mark-upon an annualized basis.

Plus they don’t have any problem with unsold inventory, even if they had any (unsold inventory) they can re-sell it for close to full price. Ya can’t do that with a sweater or an apple that’s why sweaters get big mark-ups.
