Around here the Popeyes is packed all day. The town I work in only has one Popeyes. The car line blocks traffic in the right lane because it’s so long during the times I get my lunch break. And the line inside is always ridiculous.
I’ve had one of the sandwiches because I was traveling one day and stopped at one that wasn’t crowded. It’s ok but imo it’s certainly not worth getting stabbed or stabbing someone else over.
Since Reagan, the USA made a hard right turn. Many Democrats adopted many of the conservative principles, especially regarding economics.
Clinton governed to the right of Eisenhower.
Obama tried , but was in the middle of dealing with the Great Recession, which limited his potential achievements.
35+ years of Reaganism is what we have been experiencing. If you want to put blame somewhere, put it where it belongs.
(2 SCOTUS decisions in the 70’s also had a huge impact as well.)
That’s not what the NYT’s are saying they crunched the data and the republicans has remained near the same it is the democrats who has veered far to the left in the last 20 years. Reagan was not far right dear lord.
The cold hard fact is Reagan damaged the idea and soul of America, by attacking it’s institutions, and the role of government.
By attacking organized labor, deregulation that caused an entire industry to fail, tax cuts for the rich, and raised taxes on the rest (SS)…he emboldened a narrative that government is bad, and will always be bad.
(He did kind of prove that with Iran/Contra)
I have more faith in our institutions, and more importantly, I have more faith in the people.
