You could actually get nit-picky with me and point out annual federal budgets are usually created a year in advanced so President Trump was set on President Obama’s course for the first year.
I’m in the car business and when I was a child, middle America got a new car every couple of years. If you remember, car companies changed their models every two years due to that. Today, models for the average American change every 5 to 7 years and the prices of these vehicles represent a higher percentage of household income. If the household wage earner earned $7,400 in 1966 and went to purchase a new Chevrolet Impala of $2,500, the car is approximately 1/3 of their income. Today that Impala will cost $35,000.00 vs a median income of $63,688…it’s over half of the two bread winning household income. It is harder to get ahead today, than in years past.
Ignores how long cars last then as opposed to how long they typically last now. The standard warranty used to be three years/36k now it’s ten years/100k.
When the economy grows under a Democrat administration, it is in spite of the president’s actions. When the economy grows under a GOP administration, it is because of the president’s inaction.
It is the fragile and petty logic required to explain the fact that Donald had only stepped onto the upward flying train that Obama had built for all of us.
Do you know of any statistics that support your contention that the U.S. economy works better under Republican than Democrat administrations? Looking at indices like GDP growth, or inflation-adjusted wage growth?
Less than. We weren’t really feeling the effects until around March when people started taking it seriously. It was just a hoax before that. That would be gone in April when the weather warmed up.
