Buh bye NPR/ PBS

…and you’re ignorant of the truth. NPR has evolved into a DC establishment mouthpiece perpetuating the narratives they want fed to the public and you are proof of that.

Holy ■■■■ what nonsense. I’m sorry that TED talks and Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me offend your delicate sensibilities so much

You seem upset.

Before you can offend me, I must first respect you.

I’m no advocate for arbitrary government, but you with your general power to whatsoever circumstances provided to only respect the process have only the bare fig leaf for coverage.

Perhaps you can show me an example of me advocating such a thing. If you’d like one of you advocating such a thing you can just read this thread.

I didn’t say I offend you. I said those NPR shows offend you. But hey, you got to take a personal shot out of that ignorance, so bully for you.

Before they can offend me, I must first respect them and I lost respect for NPR a long time ago. They evolved from being a respectable and neutral news source into perpetuating left wing propaganda. What I said applies to everything but it appears you’re having difficulty understanding this concept? Let me put it mathematically; what’s a zillion times zero?

80 years ago, when NPR started, the US had 2 radio networks (NBC and CBS). NPR was a good counterbalance against that monopoly.

When PBS started, there were 3 TV networks (CBS, NBC, ABC) and once again PBS had a place as a counterbalance against the monopoly power they wielded.

Today, we have wall to wall radio on two bands (AM and FM), and over 500 TV networks. Not to mention five satellite radio networks, plus the internet.

NPR and PBS are white elephants of a bygone era. They needed to go like 30 years ago.

Sorry, I’m listening to the Big Broadcast on my local NPR affiliate and getting my liberal indoctrination from old radio episodes of Dragnet, Gunsmoke, and Johnny Dollar.

You know, you can find those and more on You Tube, right?

Sure, but I actually like the Sunday night ritual. I miss the original host, Ed Walker.

NPR…I don’t.
I was talking about PBS.

When is the last time, or any time you have listened to any NPR for more than 5 minutes?

Overall, we rate NPR (National Public Radio) Left-Center Biased based on story selection that leans slightly left and High for factual reporting due to thorough sourcing and accurate news reporting.

Here is another source that critique’s news sources. A Similar rating.

I will concede NPR leans left as the majority of the staff lean left, but they are professionals and are very aware of their own bias, and are very critical of what they put out to ensure they get it right. That is what 4-5 years of college level journalism teaches for those that make that investment.

Youtubers, not so much. They literally infuse their bias into their “reporting” as they have a target audience, and the more followers they have, the more money they can make.

NPR is a non-profit.

Specific Examples of this? Not just headlines…actual stories.

And the majority of those are for profit entities, many with an agenda…mainly to make money, which taints their coverage and material.

The corporate Media, sucks. Esprcially Cable news.

You’re a waste of my time so excuse me while I stimulate the American economy and generate tax revenue.

Well, we all know what this actually means

They also offer every viewpoint from the extreme right (One America Network) to the communist left (China official media, the name escapes me right now).

Where does PBS and NPR fit into that? And what can they do that Voice of America cannot?

Best strategy is to fold NPR and PBS, put that money into VOA instead.

It means exactly what he said.
