BTW, the final military name change took place today, Fort Gordon is officially Fort Eisenhower

Fort Gordon officially became Fort Eisenhower today (Friday 10/27).

With that, the United States Military is officially Confederacy free.

I hadn’t heard this today.

Good news!

This news will only upset conservatives and in the same breath they will claim progressives supported the confederacy and slavery.

A really stupid comment.

It was not and never was about ending racism.

It is about ending the government endorsement of racism.

But some racism is okay, right?

Why do you care? Be honest. You didn’t even know who Gordon was until this name change thing came up. Right?

Why would you think that? Most conservatives admire and respect Eisenhower.

Like slow boiling frogs …

No it is not. It is about purging honor for the Confederacy from the US Military.

“Honor for the Confederacy” lol :joy:

Yes … Honor. That’s what we are discussing when we talk about changing the names of Army Posts named in honor of Confederate Officers. Fort Gordon was named to honor CSA Major General John B. Gordon. Now it’s named to honor USA General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower. Get it? Honor.

The news that another confederate general is no longer honored by having a military base named after them.

Depending on your perspective.

If those Forts were not named for those CSA Generals to honor them, why were they so named?

From your perspective. Others may agree to disagree. :stuck_out_tongue:
