The Brooks Falls cameras have operated later in the season than ever before.
They were up on November 4th, but were down the 5th and 6th and now I see why.
We had a bit of a snowfall, which would obviously have blocked the solar cells. But evidently the snow has cleared from the solar cells and the cameras are up, at least briefly.
Just a live view of Katmai as we very rarely get to see it, so I thought I would post this.
Not sure how long the cameras will stay up, given the late time of the year and the low sun angle, so you may want to hurry and take a look.
There actually were a few bears straggling around on the 4th, but I am sure this snowfall has likely sent them packing off to hibernation, so unlikely to see any bears now, but not completely out of the question.
