Well last time President Trump enacted a 100% tariff on China the market got spooked, but

  1. that was (if I recall) liberation day and came with a LOT of tariffs meaning this time the market should respond in a less-frightened way this time.

however

  1. the market was scared going in to this one. Investors know the market is over priced. They know someting is going to pop the bubble so the market might get really really spooked this time.

Trump punched back.

China made a mistake.

Anyway, if you add up the numbers from Grok,
they indicate 75-90% of our Rare Earth Imports from China are for Green uses
(LOW 50+25=70%, HIGH 60+30=90%)

So while I may have exaggerated when I chose the word “teensy,”
it remains true that 70-90% of our Rare Earths import from China are for eco purposes.

Put all those mandates on hold for 10 years and we win!
