That was standard operating procedure in just about all facets of society – government, corporate, churches, schools, private organizations, media, sports, etc.
Some facets get more scrutiny than others. The rest are breathing a sigh of relief that the focused facets are taking the arrows.

Since it hasn’t been mentioned, the article states the filing is Chapter 11, which is a reorganizational bankruptcy, and not like a Chapter 7 liquidation bankruptcy. Not to say it won’t end that way, but it’s not there now.

As is the case with any organization - church of whatever denomination, or other boys and girls clubs, etc., one has to wonder why?
Why were these sexual predators protected instead of shamed in front of their communities?
Considering that homosexuality has been looked down upon from the beginning of time (here in the US) until the 90s at least, why were these homosexual predators allowed to continue their predation instead of being thrown in jail?
