Three mothers of nearly a dozen “malnourished” children were arrested in New Mexico over the weekend, with local officials confirming the “filthy conditions” led to their detention and that “armed Muslim extremists” were also apprehended on the scene.

“Jany Leveille, 35; Hujrah Wahhaj, 38, and Subhannah Wahha, 35, were arrested and charged with neglect and child abuse of the children. The three women, who were found at the compound in Amalia, initially refused to answer any questions,” writes Fox News.

Police were brought to the location after an anonymous tip said, “We are starving and need food and water.”

Law enforcement confronted “heavily armed” men with AR-15 rifles and loaded pistols during the raid, adding “occupants were most likely heavily armed and considered extremist of the Muslim belief.”
